My How Fast Plans Change...

Now Playing: "Pieces" - Sum 41

So I spent a couple of days with Jaime's parents, and to be honest, I was so nervous, I thought I was going to be sick. But things have changed. Not only are her parents doing well, but her mother has offered to help us pay for an apartment.
It looks like Jaime will have to have surgery this summer, which means that she won't be in any condition to move in September. So since her lease on her current apartment is up in May, it makes the most sense to just rent a place in May and then we can get moved in and settled. That way, after her surgery, I can look after her since she won't be able to get around for a few weeks. Her mother agrees with us on this one, and before we left on Wednesday night she said "You girls just find a place to live, we'll make sure you can afford it". I can't believe she's being so great....and now Jaime and I are moving in together in less than 3 months. It's crazy, and I am so excited. My parents, whom I talked to last night, aren't going to be able to help us out at all, but they essentially said they wouldn't stand in our way. So I guess now we just have to get some money put away before May so we can pay as much as possible - the last thing I want to do is start my life off owing my partner's parents money.
It looks like I may be able to get OSAP next year too, because after 4 years out of high school, I will officially no longer be a dependent student. That's scary - I feel like all of a sudden I'm a grown up, and I have to pay my own way, but I get to live my own life. Might not sound like much, but when you're almost 23, and still living at home, the prospect of freedom is pretty exciting.
Well, I'm off to class, I'll write more later.

I'm so happy for you guys! Its so nice to hear that both of your parents are there for you, especially after wondering for so long how they would take it.
